This week’s Local Spins Michigan Music Showcase radio show podcast not only debuts new Mitten State tracks, but focuses on regional acts performing at upcoming music festivals.

When Flint-area blues singer-guitarist Greg Nagy and his ultra-talented band of Michigan musicians heated up the Rogue River Blues Series in Rockford earlier this week, they inspired dance-alongs with everything from “Born Under a Bad Sign” and “Green Onions” to Nagy’s own “Walk That Fine Thin Line.”

Amid summer’s splendor with a crowd of happy music lovers aboard, the show was just one of countless outdoor concerts unfurling in cities and towns across Michigan this summer — a cavalcade of hundreds of shows reflected in Local Spins’ Free Community Concerts 2026 Guide.

Adding to that: Dozens of upcoming music festivals that also spotlight Michigan artists. Those include Blissfest, Kalamazoo Blues Festival, Beaver Island Music Festival, Walk the Beat (White Lake) and Lansing’s JazzFest.

So, this week’s edition of the Local Spins Michigan Music Showcase features tracks by Great Lakes State artists performing at those events:

Out of Favor Boys, Larry McCray, Austin Benzing, Tyler Gitchel, Chase Murphy & The Backroads Band and Tom Duffield. The show also features new music from Jake LeMond, Dante Cope, The American Hotel System and Dave Gillespie, as well as a live track by Nagy and his band, recorded for Local Spins by John Wenger on Tuesday in Rockford (the aforementioned “Walk That Fine Thin Line”).
