LOCAL SPINS WEDNESDAYS SERIES @ SPEAKEZ, PLUS LIVE MUSIC FRIDAYS & SUNDAYS

There’s nothing quite like the magic of energetic performances in cozy settings, something that distinguishes SpeakEZ Lounge in downtown Grand Rapids and the mid-week series starring Michigan acts that Local Spins began hosting about 10 years ago.

The 2024 fall series features a tribute month from late August through September, then boasts Michigan music showcases through the end of the year — with special shows the week of Halloween and Thanksgiving. The series features several tried-and-true stars of the region’s music scene, including Major Murphy, Whorled, Phabies, The Mickeys, Nathan Kalish and more.

In addition, SpeakEZ Lounge now features live music on selected Friday and Sunday nights in September, October, November and December. Scroll down for the full Local Spins Wednesdays and Live Music Fridays lineup in the schedule below, along with a separate Sunday schedule.

Co-sponsored by Modelo Especial, Long Drink, SpeakEZ Lounge and Local Spins, shows in the Wednesday series start at 7:30 p.m., as well as those on Friday nights. Sunday shows begin at 6 p.m.

For those attending the shows, a $5 surcharge will be added to their bar/food bill to help pay the bands. SpeakEZ Lounge is located at 600 Monroe Ave. NW in downtown Grand Rapids.
