Today, Team Local Spins takes on a different sort of event.
Several mountain bike devotees on our team will attempt to vanquish Traverse City’s Iceman Cometh Challenge, a 30-plus-mile cross-country race that attracts more than 5,000 riders every year.

Team Local Spins in 2024
Conditions could be extra demanding today, considering the recent rain and chilly temperatures (and a hint of snow in the air), but our intrepid crew is up to the challenge and looking forward to celebrating completion of the grueling race at Timber Ridge Resort, where music, libations and food await competitors and spectators.
Our team has competed valiantly for several years and Local Spins is proud to cheer them on as they “spin” their way over the finish line.
Of course, that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to November’s lineup of attractions, especially on the live music side of the equation.
Singer Riley Green got the month’s musical race rolling on Thursday at Van Andel Arena with all of that “Damn Country Music” — a 21-song set that also featured “you look like you love me,” “There Was This Girl” and “Worst Way,” with “I Wish Grandpas Never Died” and “Dixieland Delight” revving up his encore. (Set list here.)
