The roster of 2025 Michigan releases by solo artists and bands might seem overwhelming, considering that several hundred recordings found their way onto the radio and into streaming services.

Of those, 69 are nominated for “Album of the Year” honors at the 2026 WYCE Jammie Awards taking place at The Intersection on Feb. 20, with 105 different bands or solo artists nominated for “Artist of the Year.”
And fans and radio listeners can once again play a part in determining who will walk home with those honors.
Online voting for these two categories is open until Feb. 1. View the ballots and make your choices online here.
The nominees range from artists making their first foray into recorded EPs or full-length albums — 1000 Watt Prophets, Isobel, Zero Sun and Supo — to established, well-known regional acts such as The Accidentals, The Schrock Bros, Dante Cope, Luke Winslow-King and May Erlewine.
Some nominees also will perform at the Jammie Awards show, with 15-plus acts playing three stages come Feb. 20. Tickets for this annual event billed as the “biggest night for Michigan music” officially went on sale Friday; available online here ($10 plus fees). WYCE also will have a VIP Room, with a handful of tickets remaining for this “elevated concert experience,” according to Chris Cranick, music and program director.
As for those taking the stage, “the full lineup will be revealed next week,” Cranick said.
Awards will be presented that night in more than 15 different categories, with Cranick noting that a new category has been introduced, “Single of the Year,” along with the return of “Best Album by a New Artist.”
Music lovers can get a head-start on the fun at Local Spins’ “Jammie Awards Pre-Show” taking place on Feb. 18 at SpeakEZ Lounge in Grand Rapids, with a performance by The Wild Honey Collective, the 2025 winner of the Jammie Award for best roots album (“The Wild Honey Collective: Vol. 3”).
