10. Bell’s Brewery Eccentric Café Spring Concert Series Kickoff (Feb. 27): The Kalamazoo venue will host four special concerts starring Michigan artists starting Feb. 27 with Jessica Ivey (of Last Gasp Collective), Hannah Laine (of Earth Radio) and Santino Jones. The series continues March 13 with Seth Bernard and Gregory Stovetop, March 27 with Yolonda Lavender, Normal Mode and Brandon Fitzpatrick & The Element, and finally, April 3 with Kait Rose and Molly. 9. Wu-Tang Clan’s Masta Killa at Holland’s Park Theatre (Feb. 5) – It might seem like an unlikely venue for a tour stop by New York rap icon Masta Killa, aka Jamel Irief of Wu-Tang Clan, but this mid-week show should rev up hip-hop fans, with some local performers on the bill, too. Kingpin, N8ure, Wuzee, E-Will, That Dead Poet and Joey Ochoa open the 7 p.m. Wednesday show. Tickets, $35 and $50, available online here

8. The Great Indoor Folk Festival in Traverse City (Feb. 23) – There’s nothing quite like the Great Indoor Folk Festival hosted by the Northern Michigan Songwriters in the Round and Adair Correll: For the 15th year, more than 75 Michigan musicians will perform on several different mini-stages inside the corridors of the Mercato of Building 50 at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons on a Sunday afternoon, with other stages at nearby businesses. Song of the Lakes, New 3rd Coast, Runaway Mule, Saldaje, Ben Traverse, Gemini Moon, Liz Landry, Nick Veine, Sean Miller, Trillium Groove and many more are in the lineup. 7. Rascal Flatts at Van Andel Arena (Feb. 15)– This modern country group is celebrating its 25th anniversary with its “Life Is a Highway Tour” that stops in GR on Feb. 15, with Lauren Alaina and Chris Lane opening. 6. Cecile McLorin Salvant at St. Cecilia Music Center (Feb. 20) – Salvant is a Grammy-nominated, French-American jazz vocalist and a much-praised artist, playing St. Cecilia’s jazz series. She’s a “unique voice” who’s released seven albums and is also a visual artist.

5. Tribute Month at SpeakEZ Lounge: Neil Diamond (Feb. 7), Neil Young (Feb. 12), Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne and Warren Zevon (Feb. 21), Jimmy Buffett (Feb. 26) – Twice a year, Local Spins hosts a month of tributes to iconic artists performed by mega-talented West Michigan musicians and singers. In February, we’ll present The Frog King (Neil Diamond Tribute) on Feb. 7; Crazy Hearse (Neil Young Tribute) on Feb. 12; Laurel Canyon Night (Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne & Warren Zevon Tribute) on Feb. 21; Captain & The Kid (Jimmy Buffett Tribute) on Feb. 26. 4. Guiding Light Live at St. Cecilia Music Center (Feb. 15) – St. Cecilia’s Royce Auditorium will also be the site of a fundraiser for Guiding Light mission in Grand Rapids on Feb. 15, an “acoustic all-star benefit concert to fight addiction” with The Rebel Eves super-group and singer-songwriters Ralston Bowles, Michael Crittenden (of Troll for Trout), Kate Pillsbury (of The Crane Wives) and Joshua Davis. 3. Three Nights with Goose at GLC Live at 20 Monroe (Feb. 13-15) – This super popular jam band from Connecticut which melds rock, funk and psychedelic music plays three straight nights at this downtown Grand Rapids venue, and Michigan fans clearly are wildly excited about it. Single-night tickets are $46-$145 and available here; three-night passes are sold out.(There’s also an “unofficial” after-party at The Pyramid Scheme Feb. 14 with Michigan’s Chirp and Buddhahand.)

2. Justin Timberlake at Van Andel Arena (Feb. 18) – Due to various tour delays, this appearance has been a long time coming. Timberlake brings “The Forget Tomorrow World Tour” to Grand Rapids, a postponed show originally scheduled for Nov. 2. The pop/R&B singer and former N’ Sync member is touring behind 2024’s “Everything I Thought It Was.” He also plays Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Feb. 20. 1. The WYCE 2025 Jammie Awards at The Intersection (Feb. 28) – Every February, Grand Rapids community radio station WYCE-FM honors the best albums and songs by Michigan artists for the previous year — GR’s version of the Grammy Awards. Three different stages inside The Intersection will host performances by 18 Michigan bands and solo artists, with awards given out for best album, song of the year, and best recordings in several different genres. Artists range from Kalamazoo’s Jordan Hamilton and Headband Henny to Ludington’s Third Coast Swing to Grand Rapids’ Big Timmy & the Heavy Chevys, Overdrive Orchestra and Adrian Wright.
