New local and regional music is busting out all over, and the April 14 edition of Local Spins on WYCE — the 135th episode of the show — proved that in dynamic fashion.
Not only did this week’s show on WYCE 88.1 FM boast an in-studio visit from three members of The JetBeats, West Michigan’s titans of ’50s and ’60s rock/pop (in the mold of The Beatles and other British invasion bands), but the debut of a passel of new songs by Michigan artists.
The new music lineup included tracks from Hollywood Makeout, Brian Koenigsknecht, Rusty Vining, Standing Sun, Folias, Jim Shaneberger Band and Ed Dupas, as well as music by Diff & Dudley (this week’s musicians’ pick) and The Ragbirds.
