The return of Domestic Problems at Elevation inside The Intersection on Friday night in Grand Rapids (and in the Detroit area on Saturday) brought out throngs of fans and tons of glowing comments on Facebook, with many even enjoying West Michigan’s uber-popular ’90s band in socially distanced live-stream fashion.
“Such a fun night,” wrote fan Kristi Talberg Sheffer. “We stayed in our little bubble in the back corner dancing the night away just like back in our college days. … It was a great show and thanks for getting us out of the house.”
Added Jim Curry: “You guys knocked it out of the park tonight.”
It certainly wasn’t the only show drawing raves from fans this past week, with Detroit’s Jax Anderson and Tiny Jag — along with Grand Rapids DJ AB — delivering an uber-energetic display at Grand Rapids’ Studio Park for Michigan House’s “Listening Lawn” on Thursday, the same night that JRob with Bedrock and Hollywood Makeout did much the same for “GRAM on the Green” on the terrace of the Grand Rapids Art Museum.
“Y’all absolutely crushed it. Such a dope evening,” gushed Josh Mumme of the GRAM on the Green show.
Added fan Temple Cole: “Absolutely awesome.”
Thursday also saw the return of Michigan Rattlers, touting a new album, to The Stache inside The Intersection, with Muskegon’s Colt Snuffer & The Dead Horsemen getting things started.
On Friday, during Kalamazoo’s ArtHop, singer-songwriters Carrie McFerrin, Stovepipe Stover, Brian Koengisknecht and Doug Buscemi performed at Webster’s Prime — the first live music at the venue in more than two years.
And there was a celebratory air to Saturday night’s concert at The Pyramid Scheme, too, with Lipstick Jodi headlining a vinyl-release show for “More Like Me” that also featured sets by Pink Sky and Iverson.
