West Michigan's music scene
The middle of July marked the heyday — and the mid-point — of the summer festival season in Michigan, but there were heaps of high-profile indoor shows, too, as evidenced by this Local Spins concert roundup.
Revisit the diverse musical action by eyeballing these splashy images from Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Jackson County, courtesy of Local Spins concert photographers.
Rain, by the way, did affect some outdoor events, including country music’s Faster Horses Festival in Brooklyn, where organizers were forced to evacuate the concert venue for more than an hour Friday, before resuming the show.
And a couple of Friday night shows — Seth Bernard at Old Dog Tavern and May Erlewine at Bell’s Brewery — in Kalamazoo were moved indoors.
But rapper A$AP Ferg, aka Ferg, who was joined by an energetic bunch of hip hop acts, and groove metal-ites Black Label Society brought their own version of an indoor storm to the glee of West Michigan devotees at 20 Monroe Live.
