LOCAL SPINS WEDNESDAY:
TOM PETTY TRIBUTE W/ JACK LEAVER & FRIENDS
When: 8 p.m. Wednesday
Admission: Free
Where: SpeakEZ Lounge, Grand Rapids
“Local Spins Wednesdays Tribute Month at SpeakEZ Lounge” wraps up this week with well-known Grand Haven singer and guitarist Jack Leaver leading a tribute to the late Tom Petty and his massive catalog of iconic rock music. No tribute sounds more like Petty than the one powered by Grand Haven’s Leaver, who’s long fronted The American Heartbreakers tribute band. His vocal resemblance to Petty is uncanny. For this SpeakEZ show, he plans a semi-acoustic version of that band featuring keyboard player Dennie Middleton and guitarist Everett Domeier (and maybe some special guests). Expect a night of Petty favorites and more.
Local Spins Wednesdays are presented by Local Spins, SpeakEZ Lounge, Perrin Brewing Company and WYCE, with Michigan beer specials on tap and free parking in the Monroe Avenue lot across from SpeakEZ. This is the perfect way to bid adieu to February.

Read more about the band and listen to its music in this Local Spins Artist Spotlight and podcast.

Details about both shows online at foundersbrewing.com.
THE MUSICAL BOX

Tickets: $30-$65
Where: 20 Monroe Live, Grand Rapids
Attention Genesis fans: The Musical Box is headed back to Grand Rapids. The last time this incredible, Genesis-approved tribute to Genesis rolled into town, the Montreal-based group (which uses one-time Genesis stage props in its concerts) unfurled “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.” This time, it’s performing the classic “Selling England by the Pound” with a “special ‘Lamb’ set encore.”
Get details online at 20monroelive.com, and there’s also a special four-pack of tickets available. Details and tickets online here.

This super-group plans a special rollicking “standing room only” show at Seven Steps Up and Mark Schrock promises, “It’s gonna be a fun one!”
