So, these moo-ving facts came across Local Spins’ desk this week: Cows enjoy being brushed, always face a magnetic pole when at rest or grazing, can’t see red or green, and have best friends.
A bunch of those cows will have lots of friends joining them this weekend because the Cowpie Music Festival staged on “Farmer” John Crissman’s working cattle farm in southern Kent County has become a West Michigan tradition. Not only that, but this year’s event ups the ante with two stages and several national acts, including The Steel Wheels, Keller Williams, HyRyder and Ultraviolet Hippopotamus (who also happen to hail from West Michigan). Top-notch local performers are also part of the bill, including Lady Ace Boogie, Desmond Jones, Fauxgrass, Bigfoot Buffalo, May Erlewine and many more. Get more details online at cowpiemusicfestival.com and come back to Local Spins later this week for more about this unique festival.
