Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo had it all as the first full week of October settled in.

Sweden’s nu metal/metallic hardcore band Thrown got it all started at The Intersection on Tuesday, with a set that ranged form “grayout” to “backfire.”
Things continued with West Michigan roots rock band Jack Droppers & The Best Intentions returning to the stage at Grand Rapids’ SpeakEZ Lounge on Wednesday, the illustrious Kenny Barron Trio kicking off the “Spectacular Jazz Series” at St. Cecilia Music Center on Thursday, the blues of 7th Son Blues Band, the hip hop of Dumugly and emo rap of Taxicab at Old Dog Tavern in Kalamazoo on Friday, the same night that The American Hotel System hosted an EP-release show at Grand Rapids’ SpeakEZ Lounge.
