As the weather warms, summertime dreaming ensues.
Support our coverage of
West Michigan's music scene
Of course, that includes dreams of outdoor concerts in scenic settings amid communities across Michigan, from Ada to Zeeland to just about everywhere in between.
On almost any weeknight in the summer, regional artists of every ilk can be found entertaining music fans, families and tourists in parks, on beaches and along city streets. The free-admission shows fill these picturesque spaces with lawn chairs, picnic baskets and happy children, teens and adults.
Not only that, but the concerts offer Michigan bands a chance to showcase their music for a broad range of audiences and age groups, outside of their usual gigs at bars and breweries.
Every year, Local Spins is the only media outlet in the state to publish a comprehensive listing of these free outdoor shows via the Free Community Concerts 2025 Guide. Our first edition of the guide for 2025 features schedules for more than 75 concert series spanning the state, with more set to be added in coming weeks as lineups are finalized by organizers.
View the guide online here.
To whet your appetite, we’ve also selected a handful of lineups to feature here, with popular Michigan acts such as The Accidentals, The Bootstrap Boys, Roosevelt Diggs, Asamu Johnson & The Associates of the Blues, Jake Kershaw, Kanin Wren, Kari Lynch and more making the rounds in several of these communities.
Enjoy. And thanks to Local Spins’ Julie Honderd for compiling these listings. If you don’t see your series listed in the Free Community Concerts 2025 Guide, send your lineup and details to her at juliel100@protonmail.com.
