For many Michigan fans of the virtuosic bluegrass guitarist, the biggest show of summer 2023 at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston arrives when Billy Strings lights up the iconic outdoor amphitheater for the first time as a headliner on June 16.
For others, the star-studded Pine Knob lineup is rife with classic rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Foreigner and Alice Cooper, or country stars such as Dierks Bentley, Eric Church and Jason Aldean, or maybe the return of The Cure, Matchbox Twenty, Fall Out Boy and Barenaked Ladies. Or how about tour stops by The Arctic Monkeys, Beck or Pentatonix?
But Pine Knob’s roster is just a small slice of the outdoor concert offerings at venues throughout Michigan this summer, with Local Spins today revealing its first round-up of “2023 Summer Concert Series @ Michigan Venues” listing which you can peruse in its entirety here.

We’ve featured several here today, exemplifying the wide variety in venues which draw music lovers to their unique settings.
Some are farms, such as Ed Dunneback & Girls Fruit Farm outside Grand Rapids, Wildwood Family Farms’ with its “Between the Silos” series in Alto, Frugthaven Farm in Greenville or Lavender Hill Farms outside Boyne City.
Others take place at vineyards or ballparks or on the beach, such as The Deck in Muskegon, which offers music by regional bands on a nightly basis through the summer, starting with the JGJ Band on May 18 and running through Sept. 24 (Carl Webb Band, Jedi Mind Trip).
Find some of these listings below, with more in our “Outdoor Concerts at Venues” guide.
