Fans and performers will notice some big changes and new amenities to bolster the live music experience when Liquid Note in Otsego kicks off the second season of its outdoor concert series later this month.
Not only that, but the Friday and Saturday night events boast an expanded summer lineup of more than five dozen bands and artists – from national touring acts such as The Verve Pipe, Larry McCray, Duke Tumatoe and Afroman to local favorites Jake Kershaw, Patty PerShayla and Serita’s Black Rose.
“We continue to make improvements to the outdoor venue. Our goal, this year, is to make an even better experience for our patrons,” said Mark McPherson, general manager for Liquid Note Brewing, Maude’s Taphouse and Mac’s Place in downtown Otsego.

“Major changes this year are the doubling of square footage, reserved seating with tables with online ticketing, improvements to the stage with permanently installed stage lighting, additional bar service options, and our brand new 16-stall bathroom trailer complete with full flush toilets, sinks and air-conditioning.”
The Friday night concert series kicks off May 24 with country artist Brady Lee, followed on Saturday (May 25) by the all-day Americana Fest, featuring Michigan acts Deerfield Run, Silver Creek Revival, Smokin’ Dobroleles, Kait Rose & The Thorns and Nicholas James & The Bandwagon.
Several more Saturday festivals are on tap, including June 15’s Motown Fest, July 13’s Blues fest, Aug. 24’s Country Fest, Sept. 14’s Flashback Fest and Sept. 28’s Creative Arts Festival.
On July 27, Allegan county native and award-winning Americana artist Myron Elkins will play a special fund-raising show to benefit Otsego VFW Post 3030, DADS Post 56 and Veterans in Need.
Allegan’s Strum, Dumb and Dumber will close the night followed by a fireworks display. Tickets are $15.
Friday night concert tickets (ranging in price from $10 to $38) and Saturday festival passes ($24-$45) are available online at liquidnote.com. Tickets must be purchased through the website, because there is no on-site box office.
“This summer, we have a total of 63 artists and bands performing for our Friday night shows and Saturday festivals,” McPherson said. “There are many incredible local artists like Patty PerShayla, Sarita’s Black Rose, Nicholas James Thomasma, Kait Rose, Jake Kershaw and Kitten & The Tonics, to name a few, as well as national and international acts.”
The expanded space for 2024 means the outdoor venue can seat up to 472 people in reserved seats (eight per table), with another 40 in box seats and 420 via standing room. For September’s Verve Pipe and Flashback Festival, capacity will be expanded to 1,200.
Food is available via Maude’s Taphouse, along with multiple bars and 69 draft beers, with free parking at multiple city lots within a block of the venue. Liquid Note also continues to host regular shows on its indoor stage.
