Thrilled to Play Music at the Museum: Holland’s Brother Adams (Photo/Loren Johnson)
Regional and national acts will take the stage, starting Friday with Chicago alt-folk/Americana/bluegrass band The Way Down Wanderers, followed by The Accidentals, Brian Vander Ark, The Ragbirds and Chris Bathgate. Holland’s “aggressive folk” band Brother Adams will open the first show at 6 p.m. Friday.
The concerts are presented by Red House Concert Series, a house show series started in 2007, responsible for hosting a number of shows each year in Grand Haven. The series was started as a way to open up the increasingly popular shows to a broader audience.
With Music at The Museum, organizers hope to bring the same living room feel of a house show to the Tri-Cities Historical Museum. Concerts will take place on the second floor of the museum in the Centennial Room, a space that hosts various events and revolving exhibits.
“I think that the museum is a beautiful space. The idea is that it’ll be kind of a listening room-tyle performance,” said organizer Marianne Fischer. “I think the musicians that we pulled together for this are some of the best performers in the Midwest right now so we’re really excited about the lineup.
‘AMAZING TALENT’ WITH BIG NAMES REGIONALLY AND NATIONALLY ON THE SCHEDULE
“We have some people who are making big names in our state and nationally. That’s what I’m most excited about: being able to have these musicians in Grand Haven. It’s a great opportunity for people to see some really amazing talent.”
That talent covers genres ranging from indie-folk to alt-rock to world music-hued roots music.

Along with each live performance, a cash bar with craft beer and wine will be available, and attendees are welcome to explore the museum at 200 Washington Ave. and its exhibits. Tickets are $10 for museum members and $15 for non-members and are available at tri-citiesmuseum.org.
“Brother Adams is thrilled to be a part of the first show in the 2016 Red House Concert Series. Firstly, because we get to share a bill with The Way Down Wanderers,” said Jairimi Driesenga, of Brother Adams.
“We’ve been on one other show with those guys and they are really something special to watch and listen to, so we’re certainly anxious to do that again. Honestly, we admire and respect all the acts involved with this series, which leads me to the second reason we’re excited about the RCHS: It’s a listening-room style show series and this will be our first experience in that type of environment.
“People go to these shows to appreciate the art and that’s not always a guarantee. I imagine it’ll be extremely refreshing.”
