No need to even pick up that remote until you’re done scanning this action-packed weekend roundup of photos of concerts from the Grand Rapids area, starting with Thursday night’s shows by Glen Danles at One Trick Pony, the Jukejoint Handmedowns at Fricano’s Pizza and an insanely jam-packed affair at The Intersection featuring Detroit’s GRiZ, who fired up the crowd with his DJ-fired, synth- and sax-imbued music.
It continued Friday and Saturday: Frontier Ruckus’ CD-release extravaganza at The Pyramid Scheme with Grand Rapids’ The Pistolbrides also performing, Rick Chyme and Nixon’s hip-hop show at Billy’s Lounge, Nikki Hill and Delilah DeWylde & the Lost Boys rockabilly-ing the Tip Top Deluxe Bar & Grill, singer-songwriter Tony LaJoye playing Rockford’s Grill One Eleven, and the blues of Lansing’s Root Doctor kicking off live music at the newly opened Rockford Brewing Co.
Fine, now you can tune into the Super Bowl. Or the Puppy Bowl. Or the Lingerie Bowl. Or put on a CD by Bowling for Soup. Or go bowling. Or clean out the goldfish bowl.
