Calendar Medley: The 2016 Local Spins wall and desk calendars
These first-ever calendars showcase 24 Michigan bands and solo artists, featuring stunning concert images by Local Spins photographers — a colorful wall calendar or a handy desk calendar, each spotlighting different acts.
As part of the website’s 2015 concert coverage, Local Spins photographers Anthony Norkus, Anna Sink, Tori Thomas, Eric Stoike and Katy Batdorff have captured West Michigan’s musical action indoors and out, at venues large and small.
The wall calendar features, in order, PotatoeBabies, Hannah Rose & The GravesTones, Nicholas James & The Bandwagon, Kathy Lamar, Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys, The Outer Vibe, The Accidentals, The Legal Immigrants, Joshua Davis, The Concussions, The Crane Wives and Vox Vidorra.

The desk calendar contains photos, in order, of AOK with Rick Chyme, Kari Lynch, Desmond Jones, La Famiglia, May Erlewine & The Moonlighters, Devin & The Dead Frets, The Go Rounds, Greensky Bluegrass, Tunde Olaniran, Fine Fine Titans, Heaters and Megan Dooley.
The calendars also highlight some 2016 dates for popular music festivals and events so you can plan ahead while ogling images of some of the state’s vibrant musical talent.

These unique and colorful mementos which celebrate Michigan’s music scene make ideal gifts for the music fans on your shopping list. Desk calendars are $10; wall calendars are $12 each. Order them online through the Local Spins gift shop.
The calendars also are available — while supplies last — after 8 p.m. Wednesdays at SpeakEZ Lounge in downtown Grand Rapids for the Local Spins Wednesdays series (featuring performances by Hannah Rose & The GravesTones on Dec. 16 and Brad Fritcher’s MOODS on Dec. 23).
Just as important, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of every calendar will go to support Access of West Michigan, an amazing Grand Rapids organization which coordinates food pantries for needy families and operates anti-poverty programs in Kent County.
It’s another way to connect music with community and help those in our midst who need assistance.
