Suffice to say, country singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton lit up a sold-out Van Andel Arena on Saturday night during the Grand Rapids stop on his All-American Road Show tour.

After being fired up by lively opening sets from country icon Marty Stuart and emerging singer-songwriter Brent Cobb, fans covering a broad spectrum of ages already were screaming and cheering as Stapleton and his crew took the stage.
The Grammy Award-winning Stapleton uncorked tunes from both albums he’s released thus far — “Traveller” and “From A Room: Vol. 1” — as well as a song or two from an upcoming release. For the crowd favorites, Stapleton had what seemed to be the entire venue dancing and singing his songs back to him, line for line, as the performance progressed.
Toward the end of the night, during a crowd-pleasing rendition of “Fire Away,” he led fans through another run of the chorus after encouraging everyone to break out their phones to help light up the room together.
“Light ’em up,” Stapleton encouraged the audience.
“Lets make this place so loud, we’ll drown out all the hate in the world.”
