Logan Cain has once again hopped on TobyMac’s “Hits Deep” tour.
“We’re tickled to be honest,” said Cain, 32, of his sibling band which bears the family name. “We really do feel fortunate.”
Logan and sisters Taylor and Madison — collectively known as CAIN — shared the stage with the Grammy-winning Toby McKeehan on his tour three years ago. Now they’re in the lineup once more, joined by Crowder, Ryan Stevenson and Terrian, coming to Grand Rapids’ Van Andel Arena at 6:30 p.m. Sunday (March 2).

CAIN is relatively new to Christian music, but the trio already has performed at Van Andel – just a year ago on the multi-artist Winter Jam tour.
They led with their signature “Rise Up (Lazarus),” the fully charged, inspirational pop single from their 2020 EP debut which topped Billboard’s Christian music chart. “It’s always good to try to get people on your side early,” reasoned Cain.

A follow-up tune (“Yes He Can”) reached No. 1 on Christian radio listings.
The singers were born and raised in Alabama in a family where Dad was both a pastor and music leader. The kids were in the church band.
While in college, they entered a music contest and won an opening spot on an area Christian concert tour date. A contact in country music publishing suggested they move to Nashville, where one of the singers already had a music internship.
“We tried being a ‘positive’ country band, but that was the ‘bro’ country’ era and it was hard,” Logan noted, although they did place a song on Sirius XM’s “The Highway.”
The sibling band returned to work at a Nashville-area church even as the Provident record label showed an interest in their musical style. “I call our sound something between Southern Gospel and Southern rock,” he said.
CAIN soon re-launched as a faith-based ensemble, rich with harmonies and noted for their colorful stage attire. (Gold is the predominant look on this tour).
In just a few years of recording and performing, Logan sees the band reaching more fans.
“There’s been a shift with more families and even families with kids,” he said. This comes as each of the band members now have young children of their own who travel with them on tour.
“I have a friend who said, ‘If you want your kids to chase their dreams, they need to see you chase yours,” he added.
Meanwhile, headliner TobyMac is on the verge of releasing his ninth studio collection, “Heaven On My Mind.”
He’s been performing several of the new tunes on the tour, as well sampling from “Jesus Freak,” an old song from his days in the trio dcTalk. Check out one of his newest tunes below.
