This is another West Michigan hip hop showcase for the ages. Grand Rapids’ Lady Ace Boogie has assembled an all-star cast for this evening of stars at Billy’s Lounge, including Joose The Conqueror, Rebel Kuzco, Jance, Dayz, Queen, E-Will, Belve, Shabazz GC and DJ Dean Martian. The event “stands out because most of the artists on the line up have never done a show together,” says Lady Ace Boogie. “They all represent different crews and different parts of the city, and none of them sound the same. It’s my way of getting people out of silos in the hip hop community in GR.”
Doors open at 8 p.m. for this 21-and-older show. And tune in to “GR Live” on WYCE at noon Thursday (88.1 FM) when Rebel Kuzco, Dayz and more will be the special guests.

When: 9:30 p.m. Saturday
Admission: $5

The band with the funny play on the action film actor’s name hails from Finland, of all places, playing country and bluegrass covers of hard rock and metal songs. Really. Steve’N’Seagulls — Remmel, Herman, Hiltunen, Pukki and Puikkonen — have racked up more than 66 million views of their bluegrassy, live rendition of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” and have released a couple of albums along the way.
Cluster Puck is also on the bill for this Saturday night show. Founders follows this on Sunday with the monthly return of the Grand Rapids Jazz Orchestra.
SUNDAY

Tickets: $23 advance, $25 day of show, $120 VIP

Also performing at this weekend show will be Bandhunta Izzy, Danny Towers, DJ Scheme and illxchris. Doors for the all-ages show open at 7 p.m.; details at sectionlive.com.
MONDAY (LABOR DAY)
LIVE
When: 7 p.m. Sunday
Tickets: $65 ($63 Gardens members)
Where: Meijer Gardens, Grand Rapids Township
Hard to believe, but it’s the final show in Meijer Gardens’ summer series. Labor Day brings this multi-platinum-selling rock band from Pennsylvania led by singer Ed Kowalczyk. LIVE racked up a string of big hits between 1994 and 2003, including “Selling the Drama,” “Lightning Crashes,” “Lakini’s Juice,” “Turn My Head” and “The Dolphin’s Cry.” As a result, the group has sold more than 20 million albums globally and still draws a devoted, nostalgic fan base for its concerts.
Gates open at 5:45 p.m. Previously sold out, just a few tickets have opened up for sale and were available early this week.
