Memorial Day weekend serves as the kickoff to West Michigan’s summer concert season, so there’s no better time to peruse schedules for free community concerts that take place on various days of the week.

Today, Local Spins spotlights concerts in the Kalamazoo area, giving residents in Southwest Michigan plenty of options for live music in the great outdoors.
The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo is once again hosting its Summertime Live Free Concert Series. This year, the series is spread across three months and six locations in Portage, Oshtemo and Kalamazoo. It kicks off June 2 in Bronson Park and concludes Aug. 28 in Bates Alley.
