WEDNESDAY
Americana singer-songwriter Lux Land joined the indie-folk duo Channing & Quinn on Wednesday for a rare trio performance as part of Local Spins Wednesdays at SpeakEZ Lounge, a performance that oozed striking harmonies and a feel-good vibe.

String band Nobody’s Darlin’ played its final show as a band, regaling a packed house at One Trick Pony for the group’s farewell performance — and earning bouquets, applause and plenty of fan affection along the way.
Wisconsin’s Masked Intruder brought its pop-punk prison rock to The Pyramid Scheme, with each intruder wearing the usual ski masks (green, red, blue and yellow) to pump up the crowd, following energizing sets by Grand Rapids’ own The Lippies and Murder Party.
Brooklyn’s Break Science brought its hip hop-hued electronic attack to The Stache inside The Intersection (moved from the main showroom).

Sixto Rodriguez made a rare West Michigan appearance at Kalamazoo’s State Theatre, with hometown singer-songwriter Megan Dooley opening the show. Local Spins photographer Derek Ketchum noted that the self-described “ordinary” legend “played an amazing set” and Dooley had fans “buzzing about her performance.” Dooley put it this way: “It. Was. Amazing.”
Lansing’s Heartsick hosted its Grand Rapids CD-release show in The Stache at The Intersection, with Kill Tomorrow, Martyr for Madison, Orukai, Pralaya and Assume Nothing also performing.
The Zac Brown Band brought its “Jekyll and Hyde” tour to Van Andel Arena, with a post-show at the Intersection headlined by Gunnar & The Grizzly Boys.
Hazy Past unleashed its tribute to the Allman Brothers Band at Rockford Brewing Co. in impressive fashion, jamming with two drummers (Tim Lametic and guest Maxwell Honey) and unearthing a load of favorites for an enthusiastic audience from the band’s greatest hits catalog, including “Midnight Rider” and much more.
