The Sept. 8 celebration outside Perrin, 5910 Comstock Park Dr. NW in Comstock Park, runs from 4 to 11 p.m., with outdoor games, a cornhole tournament and vendors. Tickets are $7 in advance; $10 at the gate the day of the party.
For headliner Hannah Rose Graves and her blues, funk, rock and soul band, it’s a chance to strut their stuff for the first time at the annual bash.
“I am extremely honored,” the Grand Rapids singer told Local Spins. “I have wanted to play that party for years and they reached out to me. I’m excited to share a stage with Jake Kershaw. He is a beast!”
Kershaw, a 17-year-old blue-rock guitar sensation from Marshall, has turned heads at numerous performances over the past year and raised his profile at a host of festivals and concerts, including opening for several national stars. Kershaw was also among several acts who performed at Perrin’s Ice Jam festival last January.
The sixth anniversary Backyard Bash is a 21-and-older event; attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets, but coolers and outside beverages are prohibited. Details and tickets available online here.
Get details about the cornhole tournament (with some proceeds supporting the Can’d Aid Foundation) online here. Registration is $40 per team.
