In recent interviews, concert organizers in cities across West Michigan have revealed that many residents in their communities were bitterly disappointed with cancellation of outdoor shows in 2020 and have pressed officials to resume those free concerts this summer.

More than 90 communities across the region now have done just that, trusting that the move will not only showcase diverse music stylings in natural settings but also bring people back to their restaurants, bars and shops.

Oh, and just a note: Because rain wiped last week’s first show in West Michigan Jazz Society’s “Jazz at Millennium Park Meadows” in Walker, the series officially kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 14 with the Paul Brewer Quartet. (The June 7 show with Mary Rademacher & Friends will be rescheduled.)
