Crazy, inviting, compelling, overwhelming, inspiring — and in the case of the Michigan House-Austin pop-up venue, absolutely invigorating, satisfying and a fine demonstration of the incredibly talented pool of musicians that Michigan is producing.
One example: Flint Eastwood’s recording of the song, “Glitches,” at Michigan House as part of the “house band” series. (Five Michigan bands laid down tracks that will be entered into the international ArtPrize competition later this year. Listen to the others and get more Michigan House coverage online here.)
Check out the Flint Eastwood track here, featuring dynamic frontwoman Jax Anderson of Detroit. Her performance later that weekend at SXSW got Michigan House organizer Ted Velie to gush, “I have seen the future and her name is Jax.”

Local Spins also conducted a series of interviews with Michigan artists (and Fox) at Michigan House, assembling a special SXSW episode of Local Spins on WYCE that aired on March 18. Listen to the entire podcast here.
