West Michigan's music scene
Wilco, Switchfoot, St. Vincent, Jason Isbell, KALEO, Larkin Poe and Sierra Ferrell will join legends such as Buddy Guy, Trey Anastasio, ZZ Top, Bruce Hornsby and Indigo Girls in heating up the summer 2026 concert series at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids Township.
The series officially announced today boasts 13 acts who have never performed at the 1,900-capacity amphitheater before, as well as eight bands or solo artists who haven’t graced the venue in at least two decades.
Amid West Michigan’s rapidly changing outdoor concert environment – with new or expanded venues such as Grand Rapids’ Acrisure Amphitheater and Paw Paw’s Warner Vineyards unleashing robust 2026 lineups – Meijer Gardens plans to match its largest show schedule ever with 34 concerts taking place between late May and mid-September.
Utah-based promoter Chris Mautz, who’s been booking the Meijer Gardens series for more than 20 years, said the emergence of other outdoor venues didn’t have a big impact on the artists chosen for the 2026 season.

“There was no major difference in how we approached it,” said Mautz. “Certainly, growth is a great thing for West Michigan and the music scene as a whole, and I think we want to support that. It makes this a vibrant, dynamic place to be. … For what we are and who we are and what we’re all about, it really didn’t play into that kind of feel for us.”
Perennial returning alt-rock band O.A.R. kicks off the 2026 series on May 27, followed by indie-rock’s Jakob Dylan & The Wallflowers on June 7, Americana/bluegrass star Sierra Ferrell on June 8, pop’s Five for Fighting and Edwin McCain on June 10 and celebrated alt-rock/alt-country band Wilco on June 12 – a much-beloved group that’s never played the amphitheater (though it came close once).
“I’ve been trying for Wilco for over a decade,” Mautz conceded. “That’s one of the white whales out there. It’s certainly one I’ve been wanting to get for a long time. It’s just the perfect fit.”
First-time performers Larkin Poe and The Record Company (June 24), Lucy Dacus and Smidley (July 13), Trampled by Turtles (July 15), Shakey Graves (July 16), KALEO (July 22), Houndmouth (July 27), Brothers Osborne (July 30) and Jesse Welles (Aug. 3) will join returning favorites Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue (June 15), The Beach Boys (Aug. 6), St. Paul & The Broken Bones (July 1) and The Indigo Girls (Sept. 14) in filling out the 2026 schedule for the Fifth Third Bank Summer Concerts at Meijer Gardens.
Tickets for Meijer Gardens members go on sale starting at 9 a.m. April 18, with a limit of six tickets purchased per show. (You must be a Meijer Gardens member by April 14 to qualify for the pre-sale.) The on-sale for the general public begins at 9 a.m. April 24. Tickets will be sold through AXS.com/MeijerGardens with guests managing their tickets on their cellphones via the AXS Mobile ID.

Member ticket prices range from $53 (The Wallflowers) to $117 (Isbell), with non-members paying an extra $5 per ticket.
Mautz said the mix of artist matches what he’s long tried to create for the series: “Bring back some of the old faves and maintain that level of interest in some new artists, and lean into what we are – a mission-driven organization that has a world-class concert series in a world-class sculpture park and botanical garden. … Top to bottom, I’m just stoked.”
He singled out appearances by Shakey Graves, St. Vincent with the Grand Rapids Symphony, Larkin Poe and bluegrass/folk favorite Trampled By Turtles, one of several groups or solo artists that appeal to fans of jam bands. Others include Trey Anastasio of Phish (June 17) and Umphrey’s McGee (Aug. 12).
“We’ve evolved with that scene a bit,” he suggested. “It’s such a natural fit, the setting, the overall respect of the music and the vibes.”
In a prepared statement, Carol Kendra, Meijer Gardens’ chief operating officer, noted that the amphitheater “offers a uniquely beautiful and intimate setting to experience live music.”
