To celebrate kickoff of the 2015 spring fund drive, Edition No. 31 of Local Spins on WYCE chatted with longtime YCE supporter and singer-songwriter Nicholas James Thomasma, who also performed on-air.
Grand Rapids singer-songwriter Nicholas James Thomasma is a great example of a musician who puts his money (and his time) where his mouth is.

As a local artist who discovered the power of community radio station WYCE-FM (88.1) several years ago — and its devotion to playing locally produced music — Thomasma not only started donating regularly to the listener-supported station, but has also hosted shows and filled in for programmers at times.
And, of course, he helps spreads the word during WYCE’s fund drives. That’s what brought him to Local Spins on WYCE, helping kick off the first day of the spring fund drive by chatting about the station, his music and performing a song on the air.
