The New Year’s Day edition of Local Spins on WYCE not only debuted new tracks by more than a half-dozen Michigan artists, but revisited some of the best music from special guests on the show in 2020.
It was the year from hell in many ways, but there was a bright side to 2020.

Michigan artists produced a bevy of invigorating new albums, EPs and singles throughout the year — many of them showcased weekly during Local Spins on WYCE (88.1 FM on radio and wyce.org online). And some of these bands and solo artists finished off the year with a flurry of songs geared to make an impact in 2021.
Overall, the Friday morning show debuted more than 350 new tracks by Great Lakes State artists in 2020 and featured interviews with more than four dozen musical guests along the way.
So, the New Year’s Edition of Local Spins on WYCE — Episode No. 325 — not only looked back at some of the best music from special guests on the show in 2020, but premiered new songs from more than a half-dozen artists, including a couple of brand new West Michigan bands (The Wild Honey Collective, Cosmic Countrymen).
