Whether she was flying high above the stage performing aerial stunts or nailing flawless ballerina spins in her sparkly, heeled boots, Lindsey Stirling never missed a note on Tuesday, proving to the audience that playing violin has become second nature to her.
The violinist’s “Snow Waltz” tour mesmerized attendees of all ages at Van Andel Arena with a flashy display of festive costumes and energetic dance routines. Stirling found a number of ways to include the audience by initiating call-and-response moments and even ventured onto the floor at one point, posing for a fan’s selfie along the way.
During “Carol of the Bells,” Stirling and her quartet of dancers coached the crowd through a series of moves with their phone flashlights for a fun TikTok moment.
Stirling, 37, played lively arrangements of a number of beloved holiday classics such as “Sleigh Ride” and “Feliz Navidad” as well as a few originals: “Crystallize” and “I Wonder as I Wander.”

During one humorous moment, members of Stirling’s band (guitarist and keyboardist Ryan Riveros and drummer Drew Steen) played child-sized instruments and powered through a medley of at least five different Christmas carols.
Before a particularly moving rendition of “O Holy Night,” the award-winning California native stood alone on stage under a single spotlight and shared personal stories with the audience about her faith and the true meaning of the Christmas season.
Stirling also took a moment to explain the charity she started in 2020, The Upside Fund, which is dedicated to helping people pay their medical bills. She shared that a portion of the event’s ticket and merchandise sales would be donated to the cause.
