It’s not a law firm.
No, it’s part of an early-week, mid-September volley of diverse music heating up the region from Grand Rapids to Muskegon to Kalamazoo.
It started Monday with an 11th-hour announcement of a free pop-up show at The Intersection in Grand Rapids starring Michigan-bred DJ and electronic music producer GRiZ.

The Southfield native packed the house, offering a heartfelt thanks to Michigan fans who supported him and listened when he “wasn’t very good at this.” He also told the audience he’s moving back to his home state.
The next night Canadian punk-rockers PUP, with support from Snotty Nose Rez Kids, helped wind down Bell’s Brewery Beer Garden’s summer series in Kalamazoo with an energetic, mosh-pit-inciting set.
On Thursday, Grammy Award-winning contemporary Christian singer Lauren Daigle — who played the last Van Andel Arena show in 2020 before the pandemic shutdown — returned to Grand Rapids, lighting up fans with a 22-song set launched by “These are the Days,” from her latest studio album.
Along with showcasing other tracks from that fresh release, such as “Kaleidoscope Jesus” and “Thank God I Do,” Daigle also rolled out fan favorites “Trust in You,” “Rescue” and “You Say,” which close out the night.
That same night, the Michigan Irish Music Festival kicked off the first of four days of Celtic splendor at Muskegon’s Heritage Landing, with attendees taking in sets by Seamus Kennedy, Dave Curley, Tallymoore and Brother Crowe. The festival continues through Sunday; view a preview and complete schedule at Local Spins here.
