The application deadline has been extended past the usual mid-February deadline to ensure “all of our past performers and new connections have had a chance to apply,” according to festival organizers.
Hundreds of performances will take place throughout downtown Grand Rapids June 5-7 as part of the annual volunteer-driven festival which celebrates its 51st year in 2020.
Performers are scheduled for six main stages and several intimate “pop-up stages” with numerous time slots available for performers over the three-day event. Festival of the arts also features food booths, art exhibitions and children’s creative activities.
Applicants for performance slots must be residents of Kent, Ottawa, Allegan, Newaygo, Montcalm, Muskegon, Barry or Ionia counties, and there’s a $20 non-refundable application fee. Performers also must include links to “a YouTube, Vimeo or Spotify file of a recent performance for our jury to review your performance application.”
According to the Festival website, acts will be notified of their performance schedule by March 18.
