A sure sign of impending summer: The announcement of outdoor summer concerts taking place almost every day of the week in more than 100 communities across Michigan.
These free shows attract hordes of lawnchair-toting fans of all ages for performances by local and regional acts in parks, gazebos, beaches and waterfront locations in cities big and small.

Today’s update of fresh listings announced in recent weeks includes Grand Rapids’ super-popular Food Truck Fridays schedule for Riverside Park, with the second show in this series taking place this Friday (May 22) with a performance by Latin rock’s Cabildo, and the West Michigan Jazz Society’s weekly jazz concerts in Walker’s Millennium Park. The shows in both series continue into August.
