West Michigan's music scene
Nestled in the forested acres that line Lake Michigan, the cozy festival near Interlochen features performances by regional artists, fire dancers, food and workshops.
This year’s lineup includes Act Casual, Chirp, Grace Theisen, The Go Rounds, Austin Benzing, Earth Radio and other notable Michigan acts.
“Dunesville stands out from other festivals in my view because we have a large focus on not only bringing in an eclectic musical lineup, but also visual and performing arts,” said organizer Brenna Harm.
“It’s more than just a party. I want people to be able to take something home with them that enriches their life whether that’s learning a new skill in a workshop, finding a brand new band that’s going to fuel their work days or becoming inspired with new ideas while walking through the art gallery. We provide an experience that is fitting for all ages and are filled with joy seeing kiddos rock out with their parents.”
Beyond its two main stages of music, the family-oriented festival will include a kids’ tent, art gallery and drum circles. Attendees have the option of purchasing day passes or weekend passes, along with camping; passes are available at the gate. (Weekend passes are $110 for adults, $80 for teens, free for those 12 and younger. Camping is $20. Day passes — $50-$70 adults — also are available; more info here.)
Dunesville has gone paperless for 2023. “We always end up with a ton of leftover programs and in an effort to decrease our waste, we encourage people to save the schedules once posted and set them as their lock screens or even print them and laminate them for keepsakes,” Harm said.
“Schedules will be posted throughout the festival. We will also have some sweet new T-shirts available for purchase.”

QUOTE: “Eleven years ago, we played Dunesville as a 14-piece folk-rock orchestra. It was probably the worst performance of that 12-show run. We took forever to set up, the string section’s instruments were rubbery and out of tune from the glaring sun, no one could hear anything on stage. (So) I’m looking forward to some sweet Dunesville redemption, a decade later!” – Graham Parsons of The Go Rounds
