Boasting a “creative lineup” covering a “multitude of genres,” 2019’s Beaver Island Music Festival will heat up July with sets by Falling Through April, Hymn for Her, ClusterPluck, Moonbeau, Jesse Ray & The Carolina Catfish and The Hacky Turtles.
One of Michigan’s most unique and undeniably charming musical celebrations will also showcase regional favorites such as Escaping Pavement, Bigfoot Buffalo, Jo Serrapere & John Devine, Loren Cole, Dave Boutette & Kristi Lynn Davis and G-Snacks July 18-20 on the island in northern Lake Michigan.
“I am amazed once again at the talent in Michigan and beyond. We are so fortunate to bring such a diverse and creative lineup to our festival,” said organizer Carol Burton.
“Each group is unique and just when you think it can’t possibly get any better, it does.”
Held annually on the island since 2003, Burton said the goal in booking bands is “to be unique” and “to find hidden gems with unparalleled musical talent.”
“We pick every group for our festival as a headliner and believe that they are the best you can find anywhere,” she insisted. “We want every festival-goer to leave our festival with a new favorite artist.”
In addition to familiar Michigan names, some of those new favorites might include national touring acts such as North Carolina alt-rockers Falling Through April, road warriors Hymn for Her (the folk/punk/country/bluegrass duo of Wayne Waxing and Lucy Tight), Illinois bluegrass/folk/Americana trio ClusterPluck, Essexville-bred, Los Angeles-based folk-pop songstress Loren Cole and Cincinnati electronic/dream pop artist Moonbeau.
Weekend tickets — $95 adults, $85 seniors/teens – are available online now at http://bimf.net/tickets/. (Attendees also must purchase ferry or flight tickets for transportation to the island, which is located 32 miles offshore from Charlevoix.)

The July festival isn’t the only big musical celebration on tap for 2019. Burton said that “through collaboration of many island organizations,” organizers also plan to start up a new Celtic festival in September: The Emerald Isle Irish Féile. More details about that event will be announced in coming months.
