THE READER RESPONSES:
Daniel Dawe – Warren Zevon, Little Feat
Todd Barnes – The B-52s need to be inducted and everyone from the (most recent) weekend (induction) deserved it.
Roger Kintner – Rory Gallagher and Johnny Winter most definitely should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Bruce Matthews – Poco. 50 years of music. Iconic members over the years, including Jim Messina, Richie Furay, Randy Meisner, Timothy B. Schmit, Rusty Young, Paul Cotton and others. Major, if not THE influence, integrating rock with county. And The Go-Gos get the nod over Poco? I don’t think so.
Ted Smith – Cliff Richard & The Shadows, The Walker Brothers
John Means – Dick Dale
Steve Sly – Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Jethro Tull, The Guess Who, Motorhead, King Crimson, Ozzy (solo), Warren Zevon, ,Sammy Hagar (solo), Styx, Kansas are a few that should be in already.
Jacob Scott – So many prog rock artists.
Keith Jacobsen – Warren Zevon deserves to be inducted
Michael Van Denend – You said it, John: Warren Zevon. Induct Warren Zevon Into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Ricardo Ramirez – Fugazi.
Dan Lauterbur – I’m with you on Warren Zevon, 100 percent.
Lee Chase – Johnny Winter, MC5, Little Feat and others should be in. 10%+ of those in, shouldn’t be in. Don’t get me started.
Pete Kehoe – Agree with all of your snub mentions, especially the MC5 and Replacements and Zevon. It’s just crazy to me that the Foos are in before any of them (and don’t get me wrong; I love FF).
Tommy Erickson – Soundgarden
Steve Kelso – Little Feat! Plus what you said, especially Mr Bad Example.
Bruce E. Matthews – Definitely Little Feat!
Sarah Fairbanks Keen – Everyone Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament had on his shirt (“Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament Shouts Out Rock Hall Omissions With T-Shirt”)
Bill Van Ess – Grand Funk Railroad
Elle Lively – Kate Bush… yeah
Joel Schultze – Is Nick Cave in yet? He’s a genius.
Jeremy Ensley – Faith No More, Devo
Craig Gietzen – Zevon!!
James R. Murphy Jr. – Warren Zevon. It kills me that his best work is his least known, but that does seem to be the way of this world.
Mark Swanson – The Go-Gos but no Tull? Come on.
Mark Sellers – Pavement
Paul Magnan – Fanny
Bruce Madden – On one proverbial hand I understand the need for a rock and roll museum. On the other proverbial hand, one which I use more often, I cannot understand the need for this rock and roll museum which seems so at odds with the sound and reason for rock and roll.
Jere Sorger – Zevon, Kate Bush and Little Feat for sure. J. Geils Band and Tull
Lee Middleman – Don VanVliet for certain. Every album from Captain Beefheart does something miraculous. No cookie-cutter formulas just pure creative.
John Olszewski – The Guess Who and BTO should both be in.
William Hahs – John Mayall: I don’t believe he’s been inducted reconsidering thank you but he was the father of British blues rock he really should be considered.
Chris Herin – There’s a rock and roll hall of fame? If so, why?
Tommy Schichtel – Link fucking Wray!
Frank Youngman – Little Feat
Justin Stover – Kate Bush and Replacements for sure
Brian Johnson – The real question is, why does anyone care what that corrupt, political operation thinks about anything? We all know who the greats are/were.
Myrna Jacobs – Yes… and more
Jim Weiler – .xtc, Graham Parker, The Jam
Andy Westmoreland – Can we address the elephant in the room that “Rock and Roll” has come to mean “any music written in the 20th/21st century, regardless of genre?
Jeffrey Kaczmarczyk – Andy Westmoreland: Duke Ellington likely would disagree.
Stephen Aldrich – The Monkees, but as long as Jaan Wenner is alive it will never happen.
John Serba – Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Judas Priest. They don’t care much for heavy metal.
Bill Seppla – John Serba: True….never have
Michael Packer – I have NO idea who’s already in the Hall of Fame, so it doesn’t matter to me one way or the other.
Dan Terpstra – You’ve listed many where I agree. This could become a whole day wormhole for me.
Michael R. Hampton – Seals and Crofts!
Martin Marino – Dave Matthews Band
