The big news this week for West Michigan bluegrass fans is that hometown hero Billy Strings will finally play his first Grand Rapids show in years — an Oct. 31 Halloween tour stop at a venue still to be announced (though many speculate it may well be Van Andel Arena).
The big news for fans of electronic music?

North Carolina producer, synth-pop and electro-house artist Porter Robinson, L.A. trap and bass music star RL Grime, French ‘future house’ pioneer Tchami, rising teen pop/social media star Jessie Murph, and San Diego DJ and producer Knock2 will light up the festival that first landed at Belknap back in 2017.
Tickets for the fast-growing, two-day festival go on sale at 10 a.m. today (April 12) online here. Two-day general-admission tickets are $104, with additional VIP and parking options. Single-day passes are not yet available.
Other “Phase 1” artists in this week’s Michigan lineup announcement include pop singer-songwriter Christian French, Brooklyn singer Evan Giia, dance/electronic band Telykast and Grand Rapids DJs Choff and Riink.
Jenna Meyer-Wagner of MiEntertainment Group said organizers would make their “Phase 2” announcement of other artists on the bill for the Grand Rapids festival in mid-May.
