Passes usually sell out the first day that they’re offered for sale by Electric Forest.
Reaction from fans to the lineup announcement included many expressing disappointment that Colorado’s The String Cheese Incident would only be playing two sets for the 2023 event, as opposed to the usual three or four of past years. Some questioned the EDM-heavy lineup and urged the addition of more jam bands.
“This lineup is so recycled,” fan Will Huber wrote on Facebook. “It feels like I blasted back to 2015. All of those guys have played EF multiple times and in my mind they’re all old news.”
Others insisted the Electric Forest festival atmosphere remains the main draw, regardless of the lineup.
“Kinda hard to not have an amazing experience at Forest regardless of the lineup,” wrote Michael Ritchie. “Just go enjoy the vibes and everything the forest has to offer.”
Regarded as Michigan’s biggest music festival, the 2022 spectacle featured sets by the likes of GRiZ, The Disco Biscuits, Sylvan Esso, Big Gigantic, Louis The Child, Lotus and many more performing on a half-dozen different stages on the sprawling West Michigan site.
