Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park has announced that a limited number of tickets for several previously sold-out concerts in its 33-show summer series are now available for sale to the general public.
AXS, Meijer Gardens’ new ticket provider for 2024, “just opened up a limited number of tickets that had previously been held for bands and band management,” according to John VanderHaagen, director of communications for Meijer Gardens.
Those “holds” — a batch of tickets often set aside for giveaways and “friends of the band” — often get released ahead of many concerts by touring artists.
In this case, tickets to Meijer Gardens concerts featuring O.A.R. (June 20), Old Crow Medicine Show (July 10), Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers with the Grand Rapids Symphony (July 11), Boyz II Men (July 28), Kansas (Aug. 8), Blues Traveler and Big Head Todd & The Monsters (Aug. 14) and Fitz & The Tantrums (Aug. 22) that had intially sold out on the first day of ticket sales to Meijer Gardens members on April 20 are now available at AXS.com/meijergardens.
Other summer concerts for which tickets are still available include the season-opening show by Orville Peck on June 5, as well as Tower of Power (June 12), Little Feat (June 21), Warren Haynes Band with the Grand Rapids Symphony (July 22), Charley Crockett (July 24), Il Divo (July 25), Black Violin with the Grand Rapids Symphony (Aug. 1), Andrew Bird (Aug. 9), Grace Potter (Aug. 18), Leslie Odom Jr. (Aug. 29), Buena Vista Social Orchestra (Sept 15) and Keb’ Mo’ with Shawn Colvin (Sept. 16).
Many shows remain sold out after that brisk first day of sales to members in April, a morning that saw ticketing snafus and Meijer Gardens website issues that sparked a flood of complaints from ticket buyers before problems were corrected later that morning.
