Rock ‘n’ roll, folk, gospel-fired and soulful Americana, EDM, you name it: West Michigan’s live music lineup was an impressive one this week. And the Local Spins photo galleries prove it.

West Michigan's music scene
Mastodon unleashes a progressive rock-driven form of metal, touring as of late with the hard rocking Eagles of Death Metal and post-metal’s Russian Circles.
REZZ represents the flip side of the music coin: The Canadian DJ and producer has quickly earned an ardent fan base, touring behind her August 2017 full-length debut, “Mass Manipulation.”
Indie-folk’s Noah Gundersen, meanwhile, is getting attention for a new, more electric sound that’s been described as a “rock-out experience.”
Albion’s The War & Treaty is quickly becoming a regional and national act, even getting attention for their gospel- and soul-drenched Americana music from the likes of Rolling Stone magazine.
Speaking of Americana, one of Michigan’s most beloved voices, May Erlewine, continues to tour the state with an all-star band behind her brand new album, “Mother Lion.”
Then there are local favorites like The Concussions, Devin & The Dead Frets, The Mushmen and The Sailor Kicks, and emerging regional acts such as FlyLite Gemini and The Hacky Turtles.
All of them (and more) made the rounds across West Michigan this past week, lighting up stages with their eclectic mix of music and brightening the Local Spins Week-in-Review Photo Galleries.
