Easter week yielded an intriguing mix of performances around Grand Rapids, from Darlingside/Tall Heights in Spring Lake to South of Wealthy Trio in Rockford to the LadyFest GR celebration.

Music lovers found different ways to celebrate Easter and the beginning of spring break:

• Seven Steps Up in Spring Lake hosted Massachusetts indie-folk band Darlingside and Boston acoustic folk duo Tall Heights on Tuesday;
• Rockford Brewing saw yet another reunion of South of Wealthy Trio on Thursday, featuring drummer Dan Rickabus of The Crane Wives, guitarist Alexander Atkin and guitarist Ben Darcie;
• Grand Rapids’ own spacey folk-rock outfit The Soil & The Sun, in the midst of a national tour, and California’s From Indian Lakes made an appeaerance at The Pyramid Scheme on Friday;
• The same night, Kalamazoo-based rock band Willamena, boasting a new EP that’s gotten some national love, returned to Grand Rapids for an upbeat show at the Tip Top Deluxe Bar & Grill, with plenty of pals in the audience, including Michael Crittenden and Aris Hampers. • La Famiglia celebrated frontman Mike G’s (Gagliardi) birthday with an evening of rollicking hip hop-fueled music at Billy’s Lounge in Eastown.
• LadyFest GR ramped up once again on Saturday in Grand Rapids with a host of workshops and performances in several locations, including a series of headlining acts at The Pyramid Scheme such as Hannah & The Rosebuds, The Veloras, SuperDre and Casual Sweetheart.
