Local Spins is getting revved up for its 12th anniversary party at Studio Park in Grand Rapids with brand new merch for 2024 that celebrates Michigan’s music scene.

First-Rate Fashion for Humans and Canines: At Local Spins, it’s always been about Michigan music.
Anyone who’s followed Local Spins over the past 12 years knows: It’s all about Michigan music.
Support our coverage of
West Michigan's music scene
So, that maxim is the new motto for the 2024 Local Spins T-shirts, which feature the classic Local Spins logo accompanied by that rallying cry, imprinted on soft, earthy green fabric — — all to celebrate our 12th anniversary at Local Spins Fest on May 18.
But there’s more: Due to popular demand, the back of the T-shirts also proclaim that the wearer is “Certified Locally Spun” – a true devotee of Local Spins and Michigan’s thriving music scene.
And a big shout-out to local T-shirt mainstay Citizen Shirt for once again producing this fine quality outerwear.
Those T-shirts – and a line of cream-colored cropped hoodies for women – will be available for sale for the first time at Local Spins Fest at downtown’s Studio Park on May 18, along with super-groovy new Local Spins sunglasses.

Are You Locally Spun? We certainly are.
But if you want to get a jump on things, fans can actually get first crack at the T-shirts, hoodies and Local Spins sunglasses at the Local Spins Wednesdays show on May 15 at SpeakEZ Lounge in Grand Rapids, when Izubel and her band, with special guest, the Sophia McIntosh duo, will perform in the warm-up show for Local Spins Fest under the theme, “The Future of Michigan Music.”
Both Local Spins Wednesdays artists are teenagers with bright futures, and two youth bands comprised of teens will open Local Spins Fest at 4 p.m. Saturday (May 18), with videos of youth bands and orchestras featured on the big Studio Park screen before the festival begins and in between sets by Nathan Walton & The Remedy, Elijah Russ Collective and Short Panic.
Supplies of the new T-shirts are limited, so the new merch may or may not be available online later this month depending on May 18 festival sales, so our advice: Get yours at SpeakEZ Lounge or Local Spins Fest and show your support for Michigan’s No. 1-rated music website and the state’s top-shelf music scene.
