• The B93 Birthday Bash featuring country stars such as Rascal Flatts was held for the first time at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park.
• Much-admired touring artists Incubus, Gin Blossoms (with Grand Rapids opener Valentiger) and BoDeans played 20 Monroe Live in Grand Rapids for the first time.
• The Tedeschi Trucks Band played the first show of the summer at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.
• Bell’s Brewery in Kalamazoo staged its first outdoor concerts of the season in its Beer Garden, part of their special opening weekend festivities that launched with a sold-out show by Phillip Phillips.
