That’s because performance applications are now available online for bands, dance groups and other performers.
The deadline to apply for 2018 Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts performers – bands, solo artists, dance troupes – is Feb. 28, 2018, and while hundreds of acts will be selected for slots on several stages “time and space is limited,” festival organizers caution.
Festival 2018 takes place June 1-3 in downtown Grand Rapids, with more than 350 musical acts and dance groups performing.
Prospective performers can apply online here at festivalgr.org. Like last year, the non-refundable application fee is $15, an increase of $5 from 2017. (There is no paper application; performers must apply online.)
Those applying must reside in Kent, Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo or Ottawa counties.
Bands and performers can find the application on the Festival’s website, along with food booth applications which are due Monday (Dec. 4). Acts can also upload the necessary video or audio files online, as well as pay the non-refundable entry fee.
Art sales applications will be available in January; regional arts applications in March; and youth art applications in April.
