For several decades, Grand Haven’s Bill Chrysler has worked with the best of ‘em, quite literally: John Mayer, Christina Aguilera, Bob Seger, Paul McCartney, Maroon 5, Tom Petty, Roxy Music and oodles more.
The in-demand stage sound expert has toured the globe more than once spending upwards of 10 months a year on the road with rock’s superstars.

But when he talks about the wealth of talent right here in West Michigan, his pulse quickens, his eyes light up and his enthusiasm bubbles over in his comments.
He’s convinced that a number of world-class, budding stars are in the neighborhood, including Grand Haven’s own Garrett Borns and Muskegon’s Four Finger Five, not to mention opera singer Carlos Seise and 12-sting acoustic guitar phenom Neil Jacobs.
“More than anything, I want Redwall to take off and just be a place for Michigan and surrounding states to get their music out. There is some awesome, awesome music in our area,” Chrysler told me recently.
That’s why this highly respected sound engineer has recently revamped and opened up his Redwall North Studios in Grand Haven, hoping to attract and bolster the area’s burgeoning musical talent.
