Local Spins has a top-shelf roster of photographers who create real magic with their concert and festival images.
But with hundreds of concerts and festivals every summer, it’s impossible for us to be everywhere and capture every memorable moment when it comes to the live music action.
So, Local Spins is sponsoring its first-ever Music Festival Fan Photo Contest, with prizes for the top three submissions from festivals taking place from June 6 through Sept. 15, thus covering the bulk of the state’s incredible festival season.

Our intrepid staff of photographers will serve as judges to select the top three photos of the summer festival season.
Each prize will include concert/festival tickets, a Local Spins T-Shirt, Local Spins merch and a new Local Spins trucker hat (which are available below). The top three photos will be included in our spectacular 2026 Local Spins Calendars.
CELEBRATE LOCAL SPINS’ COVERAGE OF MICHIGAN’S MUSIC SCENE
Just as exciting is an alternative contest: Submit photos of fans or musicians wearing Local Spins T-Shirts or trucker caps and your name will be placed in a separate drawing for a special Local Spins gift pack.
All of those submitting photos automatically give Local Spins permission to use these photos (with credit) in our photo galleries and coverage of the festivals displayed in the images.
Of course, we’d love to see images from smaller and more remote festivals that don’t get as much attention — whether Nor-East’r Music & Art Festival in Mio or the Porcupine Mountains Music Festival in Ontonagon or the Sol of the Lost Tamarack in Wolverine. But every festival is in play.
The Rules:
• A maximum of five photos can be submitted by each individual and each photo must be labeled with the name of the subject or band in the photo and the name of the photographer.
• Photos should be at least 1800 pixels wide by 1200 pixels tall or vice versa, and can be taken with professional cameras or smartphones.
• Photos of children, nudity or profanity won’t be accepted.
• Photos can be of performers or crowds or festival settings. When emailing the photos, indicate where the photos were taken and at which festival(s).
• Winners must sign a document confirming that they are the photographer of the submitted photo.
• Photos must be submitted via email by noon Sept. 15, 2025 to photos@localspins.com with “FESTIVAL PHOTO CONTEST” in the message field.
