All of those who’ve experienced the fetching milieu of the Beaver Island Music Festival rave about its unique qualities and the magic of reveling in live music on a picturesque, hard-to-get-to island in the middle of northern Lake Michigan.
Perhaps the mission statement for this annual celebration says it best: “Patrons of the Arts in Rural Communities promotes the variety and tradition of all music and art. We want to create opportunities for all artists, be an educational resource, and strongly encourage community and family involvement in an outdoor environment combining nature, renewable energies, music and artwork.
“Our main goal is to bring attention to our beautiful world (especially Beaver Island) by uniting these talents and people.”
Organizers will once again unite musicians and music lovers for several days of performances, ranging from iconic Detroit rock band Sponge to the folk of Southeast Michigan’s Dave Boutette and Kristi Davis to the harmony-laden strains of Minnesota’s Good Morning Bedlam and much more.
