Take it from last year’s performers at Beaver Island Music Festival who called it “a magical weekend” and “a gig that feels like a vacation.”
There’s nothing quite like the intimate and remote Beaver Island Music Festival, which unfurls starting Thursday (July 14) on Beaver Island, located in northern Lake Michigan, a 32-mile ferry ride from Charlevoix.

The three-day festival and lineup organized by Carol Burton melds some riveting national touring artists with a host of regional stars to create an eclectic, camaraderie-building atmosphere that the sponsoring Patrons of the Arts in Rural Communities says “promotes the variety and tradition of all music and art. Our main goal is to bring attention to the beautiful world we live in, especially Beaver Island, by uniting these talents and people.”
Performers include Missouri’s The Burney Sisters, Minnesota’s Good Morning Bedlam, Ann Arbor’s Erin Zindle & The Ragbirds, Traverse City’s The Accidentals (with Patty PerShayla) and Snacks & Five, Ypsilanti’s The Shake Steady, Grand Rapids’ Earth Radio, Lipstick Jodi and The Bootstrap Boys, among many others.
Three-day tickets are $140 (adults), $110 for two-day passes and $55 for a single day. Get details and more information online at bimf.net.
