Not only is "Rolling in the Deep" up for record of the year, but Adele's "21" is the favorite to win best album honors.
It’s a Grammy Award certainty.
When all is said and done, Adele will rule the day,er, night.

The British pop singer who’s getting as much ink about her recent throat surgery as her six Grammy nominations is the odds-on favorite in pretty much every category in which she’s competing Sunday, and for good reason: Her “21” album is a pop gem (though I wonder if there’s such a thing as getting TOO MUCH attention).
So, in that vein, on Day 5 of my spotlight on lower-profile Grammy nominees leading up to the CBS-televised show on Sunday night, I’m reversing field and featuring Category No. 1: Record of the year.
— Adele, “Rolling In The Deep” – Does anything else really stand a chance? Oddsmakers say it’s 2:1 that Adele will win. The catchiest song of the year also happens to boast one of the year’s most impressive vocal performances.
— Bon Iver, “Holocene” – Nice that the Recording Academy saw fit to give an indie guy some love. And Justin Vernon and crew have about as much chance of winning as Newt Gringrich does in getting invited to President Obama’s Grammy-viewing party.
— Bruno Mars, “Grenade” – Bruno’s certainly capitalizing on his unique vocal talents and an unforgettable name. (Hey, do you know another Bruno that’s not your neighbor’s dog?) But record of the year? C’mon.
— Mumford & Sons, “The Cave” – The second-catchiest song in this category also happens to be a tune that was released TWO YEARS AGO.
— Katy Perry, “Firework” – I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: What?!? If Perry wins, it would be like taking an M-80 to Grammy credibility.
MY PICK: Adele, “Rolling in the Deep”

Interesting thoughts John. You say the Bon Iver record has little chance of taking the award, as they were only nominated him to “give an indie guy some love”. Thing is, I’m guessing it will go to Vernen, in just the same way Arcade Fire took a few awards last year, just for the sake of the Grammy’s regaining some so-called “credibility”. P.S. I’m not a Bon Iver fan.
Adele will and should win both record and album of the year. An outstanding job by an amazingly talented singer and songwriter!
