LOCAL SPINS WEDNESDAYS AND FRIDAYS @ SPEAKEZ, PLUS SUNDAY JAZZ JAMS

There’s nothing quite like the magic of energetic performances in cozy settings, something that distinguishes SpeakEZ Lounge in downtown Grand Rapids and the mid-week series starring Michigan acts that Local Spins began hosting more than 10 years ago.

And the 2026 edition of the series is an eclectic gem, with Michigan stars and Sunday jazz jams hosted by Tommy Pancy. The winter will also feature a “WYCE Jammie Awards Pre-Show” on Feb. 18 starring one of last year’s Jammie Award winners, The Wild Honey Collective, and a 40th anniversary celebration of The Honeytones, one of Grand Rapids’ longest-serving rock bands. Of course, there are always tribute shows, including bands paying homage to Tom Petty, Neil Young and Yacht Rock bands.

Co-sponsored by Modelo Especial, Long Drink, SpeakEZ Lounge and Local Spins, shows in the Wednesday series start at 7:30 p.m., as well as those on Friday nights.

For those attending the shows, a $5 surcharge will be added to their bar/food bill to help pay the bands. SpeakEZ Lounge is located at 600 Monroe Ave. NW in downtown Grand Rapids.
