LOCAL SPINS WEDNESDAYS AND FRIDAYS @ SPEAKEZ, PLUS SUNDAY JAZZ JAMS

There’s nothing quite like the magic of energetic performances in cozy settings, something that distinguishes SpeakEZ Lounge in downtown Grand Rapids and the mid-week series starring Michigan acts that Local Spins began hosting about 10 years ago.

And the 2025 edition of the series is the most jam-packed ever, with Michigan stars and a new Sunday jazz jam hosted by Tommy Pancy. Of course, there’s always a tribute month, with bands paying homage to The Beatles and The Doors, with the second edition of our “Laurel Canyon Night” — this time featuring music of The Eagles, CSNY and The Byrds.

Co-sponsored by Modelo Especial, Long Drink, SpeakEZ Lounge and Local Spins, shows in the Wednesday series start at 7:30 p.m., as well as those on Friday nights.

For those attending the shows, a $5 surcharge will be added to their bar/food bill to help pay the bands. SpeakEZ Lounge is located at 600 Monroe Ave. NW in downtown Grand Rapids.
