Laurel Canyon Open-Mic @ SpeakEZ: The songs of Warren Zevon, Linda Ronstadt & Jackson Browne

For the first time, Local Spins will host a fun “open-mic tribute” featuring the songs of Warren Zevon, Linda Ronstadt and Jackson Browne at SpeakEZ Lounge. If you’re interested in performing, here are the details and how to sign up.

• The show will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21 at SpeakEZ Lounge in downtown Grand Rapids.

• Depending on the response from musicians and the number of performers/songs, the evening will be split into two sets — the first for solo and duo performers (acoustic-based), the second backed by a drummer as more of a band set.

• Each performer/band will perform two or three songs by their selected artist: Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt or Warren Zevon.

• Each performer will receive a meal/drink tab, courtesy of SpeakEZ Lounge.

Interested performers must sign up via email by noon, Jan. 24. Those performers selected for the show will be informed via email on Feb. 1 or soon thereafter.

1. In an email to info@localspins.com — with SPEAKEZ TRIBUTE NIGHT in the message field — indicate whether you plan to perform songs by Warren Zevon, Linda Ronstadt or Jackson Browne and list up to three songs you plan to perform. Also, note whether you’ll perform solo, as a duo or if you prefer to play with a drummer/band.

2. Provide a brief musical background/bio, and feel free to link to a video or to any of your music. For those selected for the tribute night, some of this information will be used to introduce your act on stage.
